Position

The Direct Care Licensed Vocational Nurse`s primary job function is the provision of direct support services to individuals with developmental disabilities who have significant health and medical needs. The Direct Care LVN will provide care, supervision, training and support to promote the clients functioning in the areas of self-care, daily living skills, physical coordination, mobility, behavioral self-control, choice-making, community integration, accessing community resources and participating in leisure time activities. Additionally, Direct Care LVNs will provide specialized health and medical oversight, treatment, and training required by the consumers` program plan and to ensure the health and welfare of the clients.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Possess and maintain a valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse license.
• Pass and maintain a criminal history background clearance from the Department of Justice.
• Must meet health condition screening requirements to perform type of work required and pass a TB test, per California Health and Human Services Agency (LIC 503)
• Must be fluent in the spoken and written English language and demonstrate good writing skills (legibility, spelling, grammar).
• Must complete the competency-based training and passage of the competency test for Direct Support Professionals 1 and 2 within one year of employment.
• Successful completion of CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training (including team control positioning and CPI transport positioning) and maintain current CPI Certification.
• Must meet and maintain all Company, State and Regional Center training requirements and certifications for direct care service employees.
• Must provide proof of employment authorization and identity within three days of being hired.
• Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must possess valid CA driver license and maintain current automobile liability insurance.
• Must maintain a clean driving record (No more than 3 traffic violations in a 3-year period excluding parking tickets).
